Estonia is a Baltic country, bordered by Latvia to the north and Russia to the east. The capital city of Tallinn was first settled in 13th century, making it one of the oldest cities in Northern Europe with many medieval buildings still standing today. It's also an important cultural center because Estonia has been invaded repeatedly throughout its history but managed to preserve much of its identity through resistance. Today Estonians are proud of their language, which remains largely unchanged since Viking times despite being surrounded mostly by countries where Russian or German are used as main languages (even if some Latvian words were adopted into Estonian vocabulary). In addition to being home to several historic sites like Toompea Castle Hill atop Toome Hill or Narva Fortress on eastern border near Russian village called Ivangorod – two places that served as strategic fortresses under various rulers over time while remaining largely intact nowadays thanks largely due efforts made towards preserving them during Soviet occupation; Estonia offers plenty other attractions for visitors looking beyond just visiting medieval castles!
Tallinn is easily accessible from both Riga and Helsinki, so you can visit all three Baltic capitals within one week long trip. For those who have only limited amount of vacation days available at hand yet wish to see multiple beautiful European cities; such short trips offer great opportunity! While I wouldn’t recommend doing any sightseeing during weekends when everyone else seems to do exactly same thing(in other words avoid crowds)you should definitely consider going there midweek if possible though——as mentioned before there aren’t too many tourists around then! When planning your itinerary keep in mind that most trains run between these cities only once every day whereas buses operate more frequently although they require longer journey time compared with train ride hence if driving yourself might not be best option unless you already own luxury SUV capable climbing steep roads up mountainsides without breaking down midway way along route even after heavy winter snowfall fell overnight(that happened last year!)………
